S'pore Govt revokes Chee Siok Chin’s WB-IMF accreditation

Ms Chee Siok Chin representing the Alliance for Reform and Democracy in Asia (ARDA) received an email yesterday approving her accreditation to join the CSO meetings at the WB-IMF conference.

When she went down to register and collect her pass, the Singapore staff there told her that her accreditation had been revoked as the Singapore Government had objected.

Ms Chee then wrote to the World Bank: "I am perplexed as to why the WB-IMF has denied my accreditation when it is fighting so hard for the 28 or more foreign activists to come in to Singapore. What authority does the Singapore Government have over the WB-IMF as to deny my participation at this meeting? Why am I, a Singaporean, discriminated by the WBIMF secretariat?"
