SDP's
website hacked into at a crucial time

The
Singapore Democrats' website has been hacked into and defaced.
This comes on the eve of the sentencing of Mr Gandhi Ambalam, Dr
Chee Soon Juan and Mr Yap Keng Ho.
The three men have
been charged with speaking in public without a valid permit when
they were selling the SDP's newspaper, The New Democrat, on
22 Apr 06.
The problem has been resolved and effort is
being made to find out exactly what happened. Obviously, there
are people who do not want Singaporeans to read about what is
going to take place over the coming days vis-a-vis the trial and
its aftermath.
The SDP will try its best to prevent
hackers from destroying the website again. We apologise for the
inconvenience caused.

trial and other matters later today.
